The 48 Hour Film Project 2023 in Arnhem is the second edition of this event. All 17 participating teams are assigned a genre, prop, line, and character that must be incorporated into their film. And all of this needs to be done within a 48-hour timeframe.
The team from B302 started writing the film on Friday evening after the kickoff. Saturday was dedicated to intense filming sessions, capturing all the necessary scenes. On Sunday, they began working from the early morning hours on editing, meticulously refining the footage and adding the finishing touches.The result is 'Kamer 8' a science fiction thriller. The film applies a minimalist approach to an unconventional concept, packaged in a unique and claustrophobic manner. Wherein reality is not always what it seems.

The video offers a glimpse into the serene and picturesque atmosphere of this beautiful region during the colder months, highlighting the snow-covered landscapes, cozy village scenes, and the overall peaceful ambiance that defines winter in Bernex

This year, we set out to create something entirely original, featuring the incredibly talented Dante van Hasselt. Not only did he compose the soundtrack, but he also starred as the lead in our film, all within those intense 48 hours. Our crew operated like a well-oiled machine, with everyone executing their roles to perfection.

Last year, the genre was 'horror,' the mandatory character was a 'handyman/woman,' and the obligatory item was a 'festival/concert ticket.' Under the guidance of Vyasa Wolvetang, the B302 (HAN) team worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, into the late hours, to develop a concept, script, and storyboard. Intensive filming took place, and editing continued right up to the deadline. My contribution of the crew was as Art director.

For his senior year Thijs had to develop a concept as his end project for NPO3 (public network). A concept that is sustainable and interesting for the target audience. Thijs always wanted to create a mini documentary and saw the perfect opportunity here. The concept revolves around how students deal with pressure and often resort to drug use as a response. With a deadline of one and a half months, this was a challenging but extremely rewarding process for Thijs. He had to handle all the facilities and production-related tasks on his own. The final product is something Thijs is very proud of and hopes to produce similar projects more often.
